De Mörder to Middernacht — a Low German crime opera

A crime opera in Low German: Milan Schomber’s libretto and Raphael Fusco’s score put the region’s own language on an opera stage where it had never been heard that way. The Detmolder Kammerorchester played under the composer’s direction, Nils Braun directed, Annegret Peters translated the text into Low German — and the Kulturetage Oldenburg was the young association’s first venue.
With this production Forum neue Kunst became a producing organisation — and the premiere on 30 October 2021, which KDO made possible with 450 tickets, its founding moment.
